Vintage Large Lace Doily in Framed Tray with Glass Front. Beautiful large vintage tray, intended for wall hanging or serving. Recent similar items sold have been dated to the 1940s, ut I can't confirm that's accurate. I can confirm this is vintage. I can see age spots forming inside of the glass, the wear and patina indicate it has some age. Interestingly, I also cannot confirm that there is an actual doily inside of this piece of art. The tray features a doily underneath glass when I look very carefully, it almost appears that the doily is painted on the wood under the glass. Unfortunately, you cannot open this wood tray like a picture frame. You could open the tray without risking significant damage. So I can't confirm whether or not there is cloth under there. The design is very. I feel sure it's vintage and original, it does not appear to have been tampered with. It would make a stunning wall hanging piece of art.
